there seem to be so many children, but I doubt very few would ever admit to it. I have even read up on a case whereby a 12 year old girl went to a baby store to buy a pack of baby towelling nappies to wear herself !
I wonder what's the cause ?

Oh, that kind of "nappies", I thought you meant a short sleep. We call those "nappies" DIAPERS in the U.S. (LOL)

I think it becomes a security issue in most cases. Also for some children they may have had some bad experiences in potty training. If potty training was in a negative manner then I would understand them wanting to wear a diaper. it is the one thing they can hold on to and control themselves. In the case of that 12 year old there may be some underlying pyschological issues that have yet to be resolved.

The cause may be to be secure : some children had bad experience with toilet training, parents screaming at them etc... But it may be the refusal to grow. If this girl had a new sibling, she wanted to wear nappy to be close to her mother, ...
Or again, she probably has a weakness with a bladder. Some people (children, adults) 've got a weak bladder and can't hold it...

It;'s a fetish that some people never outgrow, which is, well strange. I doubt anyone could tell you or me the cause of it but it may have something to do with going back to a time when they were cared for. Pressures on kids now can send them reeling. I know of at least 5 adults who do this too.
