The median family income as of the 2000 census was around $38,000 -- this is a more indicative number than average income because there are a lot of super rich people in New York City -- people making 10 -- 25 Million are year....Manhattan has a per capita income of 46,000 -- thats where most of the rich people live....

i have some family that live in NY , and they make around 100-200k a year but they have careers, i would say the AFI in NY is probably around 50-60k/a year
