Witchcraft is not Wicca, and it is not a waste of time. If you think it is, and you don't practice, why are you even asking?

The practice of witchcraft is certainly real - but are the results?

Human brains have a natural tendency to seek patterns in order to establish cause and effect. That is how we learn what actions achieve what results. Unfortunately, that leads to a lot of imaginative incorrect conclusions. Hence the superstitions of witchcraft.

However, some practices of witchcraft, such as herbal remedies for maladies or even psychological treatment through ceremony probably do have real effects.

It is very real. I've seen it with my own eyes.
I'm also a practicing Pagan/Wiccan.

I might also add that it is part of some religious practices of various faiths, namely Wicca (although not all Wiccans practice witchcraft). According to the 4th circut court of appeals, Detmer Vs. Landon case "Wicca is a spiritual movement for the purposes of the First Amendment".

Obviously your idea of witchcraft is the fairy tale variety. That seems to be the main theme, even within the religions that claim witchcraft as a tool. But I can't really answer this question unless I know exactly what you think it is. You don't think witches really fly around on brooms, do you?

Witchcraft is very real, as are the results. The Craft is older than Christianity! Infact Christians have adopted alot of the Pagan beliefs.

Anything they you believe and practice becomes real.
Thought is energy, the thought always precedes the reality with in the realm of humanity.
People that practice Witchcraft invest their time in it for many of the same reasons you spend time on the Internet.
To communicate, to ask questions, to influence your world, to learn about life.
In 1970 computers and the Internet were just outlandish ideas.
In 1570 midwives and healers (witches) were being tortured and killed.
Think....Study....Learn....Do not fear what you do not understand.

Yes, wichcraft is real and it is not evil or demonic or sinful. Sin is a Christian concept and if you do not acknowledge the bible or if you are not a christian you are not bound by Christian concepts of sin and evil.

I am a former Christian and chose Wicca witch incorporates witchcraft in it's practice. I spent 24 years a lay minister and all in all 34 years in different churches of different belief systems. I have seen many Pentecostals use spells and magick principles in the name of Christianity. I have also seen this in Baptist churches also but more so in the Charismatic churches I went to.

Many Christians use witchcraft, but since they are taught this in their church, they are not aware of using it.

It certainly is real, o ye of little information. Witchcraft, Wicca, and Paganism are real and recognized religions, whether Christians like it or not.

As to whether it really works, I've seen it. I don't need to justify. I've been amazed too many times to believe otherwise.

I believe that all of reality starts in the mind and that is where your focus should be.

If witchcraft teaches you something about the world or your mind go for it.

If its a way for powerless people to think they feel power, I'd say they are misdirected in their desire for power.
