Yes. Slowly but surely it is sinking. It might be within another 10 to 20 years and it will be underwater. The government is working on getting the Ellis Island foundation reliable. They need to strenthen the foundation so that it doesnt go under.
If the problem cant be fixed they are thinking of moving the island on the land next to ellis island and making a mote around the statuu, this will assure that it wont sink.
