The skin on the side of my toe(in the crevice) is splitting and it really hurts. Has anyone else ever experienced this and what can I do about it?

-Thanks

i have expierenced this on both toes- all the time =[
what i do is put neosporan + pain relief cream on the crevice.
after putting on the cream, wear flip flips or other sandels. the key to dealing with this kind of toe pain is to not put pressure on it.

if the pain continues, call a doctor. if its the skin thats the issue, maybe a dermotologist?

hope that helped!

Does the crevice you speak of exude a smell not unlike rotten meat? you might have an ingrowing toenail On the other hand it may be a fungal infection. Both can be cured by a visit to the doctor.

Yes, I have. You probably have what is called tinea pedis by foot doctors. Keep your shower clean. Get yourself some Lotrimin cream and use it morning and night, or Tinactin. Also, use shea butter, or cocoa butter or vaseline on your feet at night and wear white socks during the night. You can also get powder which will help, like Gold Bond or something like that. If nothing works, just see your family physician. They can give you something to cure it.

Sounds like a ingrown toe nail.Ask your lady who does pedicures to cut it out.It will hurt but the relief afterwards will be worth it.

you have athletes foot. buy some tinactin cream for your foot & tinactin powder for your shoes. If you use a public shower such as at school, buy some cheap flipflops to wear in the locker room & shower so you don't get it again
