This is an interfaith fast, it doesn't matter what your chosen denomination is, whether Catholic or Pentecostal or Lutheran or Baptist or anyother

Cool.
Sort of like our Ramadan (month of fasting) which began September 25ths and ends October 23,24, or 25th (it all depends on the moon).
We do it from sunrise to sunset in order to truly empathize with those who are truly less fortunate. We fast so that we can feel the hunger of those that have to starve involuntarily. Just makes us feel closer to humanity...
