You shouldn't stop taking this medication without speaking to your doctor first. You need to be weined off antidepressants. Not taking them for 10 days Im sure you would get withdrawals which may include nasty headaches and bad mood swings. Please speak to your doctor

My experience is with another antidepressant Effexor FX I am having seizures induced by this medication but I cannot stop it cold turkey because the side effects are just as bad it will make you have seizures if you stop this medication quickly. That is just to give you an idea of the serious nature of the antidepressant you are on you should converse with a doctor prior to stopping the medication. This last seizure I had ended up with me in hospital getting stiches in my nose, a goose egg on my forehead, two black eyes, a possible broken nose (I will not knoe until the swelling goes down ) and a large bruise on my chest and arm. If I can prevent one person from going through what I went through It would make me feel better. Maybe a switch to another med is what you need just do the research and speak with you doctor..........PLEASE! Best of luck.

My son is A.D.H.D. and took Lexapro for a while and it seemed to make him worse. When he went off of it...it made a huge difference. Depression wasn't a problem with my son though. I can't tell you what to do, but I can tell you that depression is serious and can totally mess up your life. If you stop taking it...make sure you have some support to be there for you if you need it. You need to have people to talk to. It does help.

it differs from medication to medication, but you should check the "Discontinuation" section of the "Adverse Effects" portion of the documentation that came with your prescription. Also you can check the drug's website.
Typically SSRIs cause headaches, aggitation, nausea etc. if stopped abruptly. You should never stop an SSRI quickly. Better to taper off. However, your depression may return and worsen.

Well, you might get depressed more, you might not. If you are depressed ON the medicine, go to the doctors and tell him. Please. I know how you feel, most of my friends take antidepressents. Try maybe 1 day off and see how you feel, if you feel crappy get right back on

Antidepressants are harmful. There are many things you can do to overcome depression. You don't overcome it with drugs. You only treat your moods.

you might have a withdrawl which your body might react weridly somehow from not having the medicine in your body. sometimes people shake, others feel worse. but i wouldn't recommend not taking it, it can be serious.
