Fliping through the channels I stumbled upon datelines show about them doing stings on sexual predators. Now I understand the fear and the concern, but that sting has the same problem that drug stings have which is,whil a person might say and do alot of thing leading up to something. They still ultimately have to engage or attempt to engage in the act before you can call it a crime. Their (drug stings and sexual stings) tryna play time-cop and stop the person before they can commit the crime.
Just cause a person has the opputunity to commit a crime does not gaurauntee that they will. Last I heard that type of thing was called entrapment.
Anybody agree or disagree with me? Or am I just talkin to my self here?

I agree with you, but this is not a religious question.

I disagree with you because the laws have been written to be different from drug laws, and you don't have to actually commit the crime to break the law. I just reviewed these yesterday after a child advocacy presentation I saw at work. I'm having a hard time finding them on the internet again, though.

Funny thing I just got through watching the "DATELINE" on predators. And I ecstatic that those perv's or off the streets & now have a record. Our children are in constant danger & we need to protect them in anyway possible.
They had the intent to commit a horrific crime, they should face more than jail.

They were going to commit a crime. Pedophiles can't be redeemed. And what could be the harm of entrapment if it saves a child from being molested.

I agree with you and I agree with them.

Although it may be called entrappement, I wish someone caught my sexual preditor before he put his dirty hands on me I was only 6 years old, im now 22 years old and the memorie's still haunt me.

I think its good to stop a bad thing before it happens...
