most good cooks have more than one favourite seasoning.. for spicey foods I prefer taco seasoning cause it has the perfect blend for me and doesn't get things too spicey. If my Italian friend comes to visit I add a little Jalepeno and that seems to suit him just fine! For mild dishes
I like Oregano good in many things. Cakes, cookies, soya cheese, I use nutmeg! One really strong spice for my Texas friend is Skudenoff that's 3x hotter than Habenaro's so I heard. She Brings it when she comes to visit
good thing it isn't often I have the super dupper sneezing fit with that stuff is cooking. Good thing it she that cooks that stuff! I love cooking but there are somethings just too Hot for me! Skudenoff is only available in 2 places
Dallas and I think the other place is Denmark
but it might be Norway.. I don't know for sure.
Dallas Texas people imported it from that other place cause they wanted something special for
their Snake Chili! Sheena does make snake chili but she knows I'm vegetarian and also knows that I find Skundenoff too hot. She likes
it though! How anyone can eat that fiery stuff is beyond me! Oh I just sounded Like my mom when she saw me eating Jalepeno's! She didn't know they were sitting out in the open for a bit to let some of the hotness go away!

It looks like the majority of the answers is salt. That is also my favorite, but I use Sea Salt. It has a better flavor than the regular iodized table salt. My other favorite spice besides salt would be Dill Weed. I put that on just about everything, except for sweet foods. Then there's parsley and Cilantro. Yummy!

Salt. I use it in everything, both sweet and savory dishes. I've even been known to sprinkle a bit on fresh fruit like sliced apple and grapefruit. Why? Why not! Salt enhances the flavor of just about everything.

I like to use Crazy Salt. It is better than regular salt. Also I am a big garlic fan. That's why I live by myself, ha ha

Besides salt and pepper? Fresh garlic! In/on ground beef, steaks, roasts it's great. Sauteed in sauces (in extra virgin olive oil); garlic rubbed with evoo and rosemary on chicken (then roasted) Garlic and butter with sauteed shrimp; garlic and butter broiled on french bread... I could go on and on.
