I don't understand the question. Why would anybody "look forward" to sending their children into war?

If you mean, what is likely to happen, my guess is another area of conflict in the Mid East. Could be Syria, could be Iran, could be Lebanon. If it's Pakistan, then there is the nuclear issue, so I would rule out Pakistan.

It is no wonder Iran wants a nuclear weapon, because once they're on a par with Pakistan, then they will attain the status of, for example, North Korea. That government has a total lunatic running it and it is a more dangerous threat than Iraq ever was, but we are not going to attack North Korea, because Japan would be nuked, for starters.

Despite Iran's transparent claims that they only want nuclear energy for electric power, it is obvious to anyone that Iran can have that, if only they were willing to agree to a verification of their refinement processes. So, the only other interpretation is that Iran wants nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons in the hands of religious fanactics is what I fear most. A conflict with Iran need not necessarily be another Iraq quagmire. We are not looking to depose the current regime, just their nuclear facilities. Cruise missles could do that, with a minimum amount of casualties. Will Iran invade America in retaliation? No. They do not have the capability.

Those are my thoughts. My wishes are that there will be peace. Just think where all those military dollars could be better spent.

Well, first of all, there are no "children" in our military. Only adults who enlisted knowing that war is a part of the job. I'm in the Army National Guard and I personally look forward to kicking some terrorist behind. And my parents couldn't be more proud or wish for me to do anything less than defend this country in whatever war that we might have to fight.

The war against the Aztlan movement trying to tear out a piece of the United States. I'll make sure they can shoot straight as soon as they're old enough to handle a gun and that I am right there with them when the lead is flying.

Of course, Democrats like Charlie Rangel and Hollings are trying to start a draft so they may be sent to some other war first, like Kennedy sent our boys into Vietnam.

I wouldn't look forward to sending any of my children or my grandchildren off to war. Those who blithely say yes, probably have no idea what war is about or what it is like.
On the other hand I would like to believe that they would be willing to do their duty if it were necessary to defend their country. I also would like to believe they would do their duty and absolutely refuse to go into an unjust agressive war against a weaker country.

Why would I WANT to send my children off to war? No one wants to send their husband, brother, father, or son to fight in a war that he may not come back from. A question like this makes me wonder if you were actually serious about what you were asking.

We don't send our children. They go because they have volunteered, and they are no longer children. And of course, we all hope not to have any more wars! We have been wanting that for nearly 100 years at least.

When terrorists that are funded by some pissant country get bold enough to fly airplanes into our cities and destroy buildings and kill thousands of people, then they are asking for the full force of our military.

Would you prefer to have old people going to war?

Only an Islamic Jihadist looks forward to war, wither or not he or his children have to fight in it. No sane person looks forward to sending his children into any war. Your question is bogus.

I don't know that any parent "looked forward" to sending their sons and daughters off to war. But Patriotism is first. My parents "sent" all four of their sons off to the military. One in '58, me in '60, one in '64, and the last in '65. Each of us spent time in 'Nam. If my country should call, I would do it again, if I wasn't so damned old. No need to look forward to going, but go proudly. God Bless the United States of America, our President and all of our military personell deployed around the World.

None, I would not want or like to see any adults going to war. But the bible clearly states that there will always be war or rumors of war here on earth. I feel when our homeland is attacked as in Pearl Harbor, and 9/11, we have little choice but to defend our self's, country and freedom. However this does not lessen the sickness one feels, when our young are sent off to war.
