This is a question for communication between you and your GF--you need to talk to her, heck she may not even want to go--but it is not your decision to "allow" her anything. Even in marriage, a relationship is not built on permission and ultimatums. I don't think "you" would appreciate being "allowed" to make your on decision. You have to admit she has expressed more respect toward you regarding this by telling you about the text message, rather than just making a decision and going with it.

I would give her the suggestion that perhaps he might want to join the two of you to say good bye...if she or he is not impressed with that idea that in itself will tell you something...also that it is really up to her, she needs to do what she thinks is right and how will she feel if it were the other way around? If she even asks you to spend time with him it would seem like they are not quite done!...that would depend on how long they were together if they have kids together etc.. It will tell you so much about her though perhaps she wants to keep her options open, he does, SOME guys are just like that, some girls are too.

What do you mean "allow her". She is not your child. Just because she wants to see someone one final time, does not mean that she is going to jump into bed with him. Try some trust.

How can you stop her from doing it in the first place? She has a mind of her own.Don't be insecure about the ideal unless your scare she will leave you for him,if that's the case she was never yours to begin with.

He's her ex...they have history...if she wants to say bye to him, you can both do it together. She does not need to be alone with him or to go out with him without you present. If she has any respect for your relationship she will not request to give him a private sendoff...

Do you have rocks for brains? what do you think "date" implies? romance, privacy, sex(especially for exs),....you get the picture. It shows alot of respect that she told you, be careful she is testing your reaction. So be nice when you tell either way.

That would not be a good idea. You may regret it later. However, the two of you aren't married, so you really don't have the right to "allow her" to do anything.
