Its a consumer reports best-buy, I dont know how bad it could be. The Saturn Aura is the best rated sedan and thier even more reliable than the Japanese cars (My SL2 is 14 years old and running as good as ever)

There are so many variables that are not known--are you buying a new Galant, or an older model? If you are buying "pre-owned" how old is the car and how many miles are on it? If you are buying used, try to get as complete a repair history from the owner or dealer as you can...and if you are buying a used vehicle, get a mechanic to inspect the vehicle and test drive it. See if the car pulls to one side or another, see if the transmission shifts smoothly...look at tire wear...uneven wear can mean the alignment is off and cupped tires can mean the struts are worn out.

A magazine that really does a good job on rating the various automobiles is Consumer Reports. The magazine takes no advertising so that their ratings are as objective as possible.

i own a repair shop,,and the galant is a real good little car,i do a lot of maintenance work on them but never any thing major on any of them yet, i have drove them around a lot and they seem to be pretty reliable ,there like any other car though if taken care of anything will last real good,if you don't take care of a new Cadillac it will tear up on you, good luck i hope this help,s.

I would say no, my cousin had one and her tranny went out with less then 100,000 miles. I would go with the big 4, Honda, Mazda, Toyota, or Nissan.

My mom had one and she didn't have any problems with it. She just wanted a SUV so she traded it in.
