If you can safely stop when the light goes to yellow, you're supposed to. If not, trying to would have ya stopped in the intersection; no? The flashing yellow means ya should slow, and look for danger, but proceed if safe.

Those who believe that accidents do not happen, but are caused should respect the laws made for safety and the amber light is no exception. Stop and give the other person his right. Don't hinder him.

Technically it's called an amber light. If you are approaching an intersection and the light turns amber, you should begin to brake if you have not entered the intersection and there is enough distance to safely do so.

However, as with all road rules, there are local laws which may differ.

yes-you should stop if you can and it is safe to do so
if you cannot stop safely without tyre screeching you should continue through the intersection
the amber light should stay in that phase long enough for you to pass
if it turns red before you exit the intersection-you were probably speeding anyway

Nope if you have the time stop. If you don't have the time. Well I wouldn't stop because some asshole will rear-end you maybe. I wouldn't want that to happen to me.
