My husband went to the dr today because of a constant pain and found he a cyst on either side of his knee, right above the meniscus. He's going to have an MRI this monday. Has anybody else experienced this? Any advise on this matter, or stories of how you handled this situation and the outcome?

I have a cyst on my knee the doctors found it when I had an MRI done. I had pain in my knee, at first, only when I knelt down then it hurt when I walked. Anyway, the doctor told me it was a bakers cyst and that it can go away on it's own. It is basically a tear in my cartilage and fluid gets in there. I'm not sure it is the same thing as your husband but that was my experience. The doctor told me they can use a needle and draw out the fluid but that it would have to be done, possibly, over and over, my doctor said the only way to get rid of it 100% is going in and cleaning it out but that is only one doctors opinion. It might help looking up bakers cyst on line and you will find a ton of info on it and you can ask your hubby if what you find is similar to what he has. Good Luck. Oh, I didn't get surgery I take advil and i'm fine for now.

I in my opinion have an arthritic knee, however no baker's cyst. As a nurse, I have treated them through the years. I understand for a reality, if you'll manipulate together with your approaches you'll be higher off. It is my know-how that surgical procedure is a final inn and is not very typically effective. Wishing you the exceptional.

Sorry to hear about this!
I personally didn't have a cyst in my knee, but in my left breast...and it freaked me out because it was pretty big. But I went to the doctor's in which they did a mammogram and they said it would go away in a matter of time and it did! It took about a month or so. Good luck!
