You might want to look at your behavior around the incident. Does he just occasionally do this? Or is it a method of waking you up? Try not to ever feed or reward him for the behavior. If he occasionally does it, get a 'bling bag' for his tags and deal with owning a dog. If he does it as a manipulation device, then change the behavior. Good luck!

Well, it's like this. Your dog "shaking out" like that, is kind of like "you" stretching in the morning. It's not something you can "train" them not to do. However, when I go to bed, I've gotten in the habit of taking my dogs collar off so that her "tags" don't wake me up. I look at it this way, she doesn't need her tags while she & everyone else is sleeping anyway. And I'm sure it's more comfortable for "her" too! So maybe try that, okay? good luck

I don't think there's anything you can do to stop this. It's something that ALL dogs do. You could try removing his collar at night so the tags won't bother you.

If he's shaking his head specifically, check his ears he might have an ear infection. If so, you'll notice a foul smelling wax-like build up that does not resolve with cleaning.

You won't be able to stop this. He's shaking the dead or loose hair out.....I honestly noticed the more I brush my dog, the less he does this. But it'll never stop.

feed him normal food. best nutrition come from real foods, especially animals that have much more hair than you who need much more nutrition to grow thos fur, he is loosing his hair due to stress from licking ur hole, and not getting enough food for that energy.

he's probably doing this because he allergys. Take him to a vet and they can give him some medicine to make him stop.
