I thought you could use some easy recipes since you're just starting out, but nobody will ever know they were easy. They taste wonderful.
Sizzlin Shrimp:
1/2 stick butter
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp curry powder
1/2 tsp dried oregano
S&P to taste
1 lb shrimp, shelled and deveined
Melt butter. Mix spices in butter. Dip shrimp in mixture until well coated. Grill on a sheet of foil or broil in oven until golden brown.
(shrimp cooks really fast so don't walk away from it!)
--------------------------------
This may sound complicated but its not. The only thing that takes time is cutting your veggies. Just follow directions step by step, and your friends and family will love this...
Chicken and Sausage Risotto:
3 lbs. chicken, cut into pieces
6 oz smoked sausage, cut into pieces
3 TBS butter
1 large onion, diced
3 sticks celery, diced
1 large bell pepper, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 14oz can tomatoes
1 c. uncooked rice
minced parsley
4 c. chicken broth
saute onion in the butter until brown, then add celery, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook briefly.(1-2 min) Add salt & pepper and rice, stirring to mix well. Add chicken, tomatoes, sausage and broth, mix well. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20-25 min. stirring occasionally until chicken is done and rice is tender and most water is absorbed. Sprinkle with mixed parsley to serve.
Good luck!

i didn't know how to cook either for a while, but I started watching the food network, and got better as I went along.
try www.foodtv.com
they have lots of recipes and they sort it in level of difficulty.
Here's an easy one: Easy chow mein
chop up half a hot dog, some green onion, mushroom, and half carrot (long and skinny, like the noodles)
Take a package of ramen and boil the noodles for a couple minutes and then drain before it gets soggy.
Then, in a separate skillet, heat a little bit of oil, put in everything you've chopped up and stir it around for like 3 minutes.
Then, take the seasoning packet that came with the ramen and mix in half of it over your meat and veggies. Then take the noodles that you've drained and stir it all together.
sprinkle it with some hotsauce. enjoy!

Strawberry Cheese Cake Pie. This is one of my hubby's favorites...
Ingredients:
1 8 oz. pkg light Philadelphia cream cheese
1 pint heavy whipping cream
1 can strawberry pie filling
1.5 cups sugar, or 1 ¼ cup Splenda
3 packets Knox unflavored gelatin
1 cup water
2 9” graham cracker pie crust
Method
1. Keep cream cheese out for 3-4 hrs to soften.
2. In ½ cup water, add sugar and bring to a rolling boil.
3. In the remaining ½ cup water, dissolve the gelatin.
4. Add the gelatin to the sugar water and mix well. Keep aside.
5. Whip together the cream cheese and heavy whipping cream till very smooth and no lumps.
6. Puree strawberry pie filling until smooth
7. Mix in the pie filling with cream cheese whipping cream.
8. Add in the gelatin/sugar/water mix.
9. Mix very well and then pour into pie crust.
10. Refrigerate for at least 4 hrs, overnight is better.

an Egyptian food called shakshoka you prepare it by putting a Little amount of oil then put one onion on it then make the onion color yellowish then put the tomato juice on it and put salt and pepper as you like ,let it tell boiling. On an another container boil chick-pea till well done then put it on the boiling tomato juice and on then broken on it eggs as you want (note that the tomato must has some solution and not completely dry to cook the egg on) it and cover it till the egg being cooked(solid) and the tomato is empty of water

Yeah--we figured that.
GREAT cooks only need recipes for very advanced food, like coq au vin, or hollandaise sauce.
All you need to be a good cook is the ability to READ and follow DIRECTIONS.
