well what happens with my father-in-law is that he is something like very protective and he is not good, for example, Do you think: WHAT'S UP? is a bad expression? he said it is. He thinks that i am a baby and i cannot do anything.

Keep his daughter happy. Trying to prove yourself in some test of "son-in-law games" will only get you more pissed off. The man will probably always raise the stakes of where "best" will be.

My father does not think my husband is the best guy for me, but he can't say a thing about him when I keep my dad in check. My life is doing well, and my husband is a wonderful partner, so my father can't do much without me telling him off. Your wife is happy, then she can tell pops to lay off the insults.

Well using the expression "Whats Up" is not proper for parents My son once called me dude. The other son told me to chill out. I think the young people who learn this new way of speaking is okay for your friends but for family like parents and such you could be more respectful with how you address them. Try old fashion english and maybe he will treat you as an adult.
