What type of impediments? One could be that in some states there are laws against adultrey do that would be an impediment that is caused by marriage.

Legal impediments are the disqualifications for a person not to get married such as being a minor, married to someone else, lack of capacity for reproduction and others depending upon the law of the country where that person lives.
