Start by planning and following a healthy diet - foods low in fat, fresh fruits and vegetables, and fewer snacks. You don't want to cut back too far on the calories. Starvation diets put the body in a conservative mode, so your metabolism (or rate that you burn calories) decreases. Eat 3 balanced meals a day and drink lots of water. Exercise not only increases the metabolism, but burns calories at the same time. Start with some flexibility exercises (stretching) to tone the muscles, then add some brisk walking. You can choose other aerobic activities too (anything you enjoy) such as running, cycling, dancing, or swimming. You can lift weights or do basic calisthenics to tone muscles and lose weight too.

I would suggest going to your YMCA and getting a membership there. Also, try your hardest to stay away from so much junk food. (some here and there is always fun for the soul. LOL) I just had a baby and or me....swimming is perfect for what you are trying to trim up. I guess it helps if you like what you do too. Try talking a friend into going with you. Good luck.

Start by drinking water instead of soda, regular or diet, or anything else, most of the time. That will help you drop a few pounds pretty quickly.
