OK, start by analyzing what's making you want to "cheat."
Is it that have to drive by the Krispy Kreme donut place coming home from work and feel tempted to pull in? Choose an alternate route.
Is it that 3 small meals don't fill you up? That you feel like eating more? Or want to eat between meals? OK, eat something that has negligible calories like celery. Or drink a BIG glass of water. Many times we feel 'hungry" when we're actually thirsty. Plus the water fills your belly up temporarily.
Get rid of "bad" foods that you have in the house. You won't be able to resist the bag of Oreos when it's right there, in your own home, screaming "Dunk me in milk and EAT ME!"
I've had a hard time with diets for years and, over the years, have found ways that help but it's hard to guess what will help you if I can't guess what's going on, what's making you have trouble sticking with it. Can you tell us more?

Try cutting down on sweets, substituting fruit when you crave sugar. Switch to 2% or lower milk. Really be careful of what you eat. Also, you need to consider exercise. Most people are not motivated enough to go to the gym on a regular basis, but simple walking and chores should help. Make sure you break a sweat every so often.

Forget about dieting. Change your eating habits. Substitute juice for soda, and then water for juice. Substitute popcorn for chips, and then plain popcorn for the buttered stuff. Little changes over time add up big, and they are a lot easier to stick with.

You need to get rid of as much sugar in your diet as you can.
Sugar is addictive. It has the same effects on your body as a drug.
The less you consume, the less you want it.
Also, stop consuming sodas and junk food. The manufactures put lost of sugar in the salty foods and salt in the sugary foods.
This causes your body to really want more of both . And its like a snowball effect!!
