Depends on the set up.
Pre school dance companies tend to be really tightly run ships, so I doubt it. But there is always a back door.
Why don't you want to pay? Surely you could find two bucks since you're paying for classes. If its the principle of it, you need to let the dance company know. The recital is a great place to find out if other parents feel the same way as you. Take a petition with you!

Personally, I wouldn't try sneaking into a child's dance recital, the money, a mere $2, goes to helping the dance school pay for its expenses, and helps to create a quality environment for the child. I would pay a lot more than $2 if I had a daughter and I wanted to go see her dance recital. Paying the fee will show your daughter that her parents value honesty.

I dance at recitals and competitions, in view that my mom has helped cope with recitals then i comprehend that the money is used to hire the area the place the recital is placed on, consequently i think of which you're able to deffidently pay the two money

Two bucks! I had to pay $20 for me and another $20 for my husband. Listen, get over it and pay the $2 and then enjoy the recital guilt free. It only gets more expensive from here.

Get there a little late, maybe no one will be taking up money. ;) Doesn't it suck to have to play for her recital when you have paid for lessons all along? Or you could have your other child knock over the money box and then you grab him/her to run in while they are picking it up. If you don't have another child then that would be a problem, then you need to borrow a friends child. Don't worry if they don't like it just pay the kid 25cents to do it, you are still ahead $1.75, then make sure you tell the kid you will steal his/her beloved pet and give it to another better kid. Yes a kid that will not tell his/her parents. If you get busted blame it on PMS (pre men syndrone) and a bong hit you took at your old friends house ( you know you stop there every once in a while). I don't think they will arrest you, but just in case make sure you have the money on you to post your bond. Let me see if I remember correctly a thief charge of $2.00 wouldn't be that expensive maybe around $150.00. Or you could call a bondsman maybe the famous one on t.v. that is in trouble now in Mexico. I bet he is much cheaper now that he is a big time tv star and convict. I could keep on but I think you get the idea. If you need anymore help, please feel free to ask. ;0)

Perhaps instead of "sneaking", you could offer to help with the recital. Help set up clothing racks for costumes, set up areas for the children to get costumes on, coordinate backstage getting the kids in order to go on, help do hair and makeup, make sure costumes are ready for the next change of clothes, bring non-messy snacks for the kids, bring coloring books/toys/books/games for them to do while they are waiting, etc. That way, you are seen as helpful, while possibly still seeing the show from a different perspective. If all this is too much work for you- pay the two bucks to sit in the audience and cheer like a lunatic when your daughter is on stage.

I will assume that you're bored, had nothing else to say and typed this weirdest thing you could think of. But just in case I'm wrong, set the example. Honesty, trust and setting priorities start at home. Pay the measly $2 and go. Have a great time and bask in the ambiance of your daughter's successful performance!

If they're charging admission, I guarantee the money is being used for your daughter's dance program.
Be a good parent and support the program. Pay for the tickets.

Either pay the two bucks, or go backstage and watch your daughter as she comes out tiredly!
