You people aren't GETTING it. It doesn't matter if the child is INNOCENT. Most victims of war are INNOCENT. Does it become justifiable when calling it "killing" as opposed to "murdering"??

Refer to the link--it seems to!!

Furthermore, I am not taking sides on the abortion issue. I am using it merely as an EXAMPLE here--not debating it.

John G.: The is war murder? Especially when so many of the casualties of war (whole villages) are innocent?

Debra M: See the question I asked John G. If killing a few innocent children in the process of blowing up an enemy camp is justified, then why is abortion not?

Since when did the terms "godless" and "whore" become synonymous?

A real Christian would not harm any human life for any reason. No abortions, no solders taking up arms in the name of God.

This is a tricky question. I do belive in abortion, I belive that it a very personal choice that should not be taken away from us. Some people can't afford the children they have, they ignore they children they do have. They resent them, even if they would never admit to it. Women are just as human as every other man. Some people love children and others can't stand them. Even if they love them some are unfit and should never be allowed to have them. ( I don't care how unPC that is it's the truth) Having a child is a serious life altering thing. Some people can't handle it and it is unfair to expect them to. ( please don't some idiotic thing like they shouldn't have sex then because the same thought would never be put against a man) Some women are raped and the child would just be a living reminder of what happend, the woman would blame the child in some way. I think that you need to do some research and learn what women had to go through in order to be thought of as human beings. As to your specific question I think that some people only use "murder" to beings that are already living independent of the mother's womb. You can kill anything that is alive, a germ, a plant,a roach, but no one would ever accuse you of murdering them.

This doesn't really answer your question but ...

Abortion is killing a small group of cells that would eventually turn into a human. What if technology advances to the point where scientist can take any human cells and grow that into a human? That really increases the baby making ability and lowers the value of the natural embryo.

That also brings me to think of this scenario. A woman gets pregnant, has an abortion and then 1 month later gets pregnant and keeps it. 10 months later she is holding a baby in her arms. Is that really any different than if she would have just kept the first child?

Murdering and killing is the same thing, whoever thinks it's not needs to have a talk with Mr Webster!!!! Anyways God says that vengious is his, which means that we should not harm our enemy's that he'll take care of them for us, so yeah murder or killing someone is wrong and yeah its a ticket to hell! But the flip side of that is if you are protecting yourself from being killed then you are not in the wrong you are protecting yourself, God is a forgiving God and understands every situation. There is a difference between having a baby aborted and killing a intruder that breaks into your home and holds you at Gun point!

Man looks at the outside , God looks at the heart. We can play with words all day long - a woman can say "I am sending him to a better place" How sweet does that sound??!?
It does not matter what words are used , though using a word properly will avoid confusion such as what has happened over this abortion / war/ capital punishment issue.

Killing with a selfish intent, with pridefulness and self exaltation, killing to provide oyurself with more comfort, out of anger revenge , spite etc. is murder , taking the life of another with evil intent or evil purpose in your heart is murder, it is wrong, it is sinful.
Killing in order to protect is a different story. I support the death penalty, but my heart does go out to those that die like that, I weep for them and for what they have done wrong, I pray that repentence is sought, if they are being killedo ut of a sense of revenge then that is on the heads of those that have that on their hearts, but for the protection of the innocent it is sometimes a necessity. there is no joy or satisfaction in seeing one killed by way of capital punishment or in war- but for the protection of the innocent- for the protection of their rights- unfortunately in this fallen world it is what must be done.
If we continue to only look at the surface then we will never understand- we must look at the heart of the matter and see the truth of it.

The bible is clear when it comes to the difference of killing and murdering. Killing in the old testament was only in war. People would be condemned is they killed someone. They would be labeled a murderer. Now that we have identified killing and murdering as the same thing, then you can realize that when God allows the creation of an embryo in the uterus, it was meant to be, and we should not change it. It is not our decision to take a life God already created. It is killing/murdering, and the excuses we make to justify it arent excuses that God is going to buy in the throne room on Judgement Day.

As others have said, (and I answered that same question as well, though I feel it's a waste of time) KILLING is only justified if it's in defense of yourself, your family, or your home. Otherwise, it's just murder. Therefore, abortion is still murder, however one wants to word it.
Two entirely different things.
It's a pretty good analogy, but you can't call black white or vice versa.

In war civilians for the most part(by the U.S anyway)are not targeted, they are "Collateral Damage",it ain't pretty but that's the way it is.
Killing someone pre-meditated is freaking Murder, plain and simple. The kids alive in there with little fingers and toes and a little heartbeat.Be honest people...You're killing...Murdering your child.Go ahead don't let me stop you .After another 70,75 years you'll have all eternity to think about it.

They make the rules up as they go along. The real reason they don't like abortions is that an unwanted poorly brought up child will more likely turn to religion, hence more cash for them

I'm not sure I quite understand what the question is, since they are one in the same. Besides, I believe in judging the act, not the soul. However entities don't inhabit bodies that are just going to be discarded. And most don't enter the body until just before birth.

Yes. Killing an animal is not murder. Killing a plant is not murder. Killing a bacteria is not murder.

So killing a small group of cells in your body is not murder either.

While it will prevent a new person from being created, that is not the same as killing people. Otherwise not having sex in the first place, would also be murder.
