coolant leak seen on ground between rear of car's engine and firewall, could this be heater core hose leaks or maybe leaks between coolant reservoir and radiator

Car's temperature gauge needle points to half or less than halfway on the gauge. At no time is overheating indicated. I am having the car inspected for this leakage, but aside from placing it on a lift there is no easy way to see any troubles between the rear of the car's engine & the firewall

Time to get rid of a Taurus. We had a 92 Taurus that did the same thing and we had it in the Ford garage several times in a 2 year span and they never could find out what was going on. We traded it in last year and 1 week after somebody else bought it(we knew the people that bought it) the water pump went out of it. Might start there. Good luck.

I work for Ford and have built the Taurus heating and cooling system. I would say unless you have wetness on your interior or constant fog on your windshield it is not a heater core hose or the heater core itself that it leaking. I only build radiators and climate control systems so I couldn't tell you what the problem IS but from what you wrote, I tell your problem isn't that.

i own a repair shop,id take it and have it put up in the air at a gas station, and look at it real good i think you,ll find it to be a heater hose on it,the fords are real good for making the back hoses leak on them,,there is a lot of heat back there and the hose get old and dry,i think it will be something simple ,especially since it giving no trouble right now good luck i hope this help,s.

Sounds to me like you need a new heater core. Is there wetness in the floorboards? This happened to my blazer and that was a real treat to fix. My whole dash had to come out. Good Luck. Hopefully its like you said only a leaking hose.
