Insomnia
About 3 years ago, I started experiencing a night time problem of waking up continually
during the night. This was accompanied by a rapid heartbeat and a strange feeling in my
throat and tongue. I was never tested for sleep apnea, but I was tested for heart arhythmia
by a cardiologist. I was told I could have an ablation (heart surgery) to fix the arhythmia.
Instead, on the advice of an alternative health practitioner, I started using a small amount
of natural progesterone cream every day for two weeks of the month (the last 2 weeks of my
cycle). All of those symptoms disappeared and have basically been gone since then. Once in a
while if they start to come back, I just know I need to up the amount of pregesterone cream
I use, and the symptoms disappear again.
I think it's really worth a try. You may have to experiment with the amount of progesterone
cream you use. Use only natural progesterone, not synthetic. I'd be interested to hear if it
works on others. ~ I recommend Natural Progesterone and Lavender Essential Oil. Hugz

I have the same problem and tried it all, the hot baths the yoga, the reading a boring book, the herbal tea, well the whole sherade!
But meditation or yoga sometimes helped a bit, but it's very simple if you haven't cought up with yourself and your life, you're mind is keeping you buissy, and yes about all kinds of things we don't want to keep buissy with right now.. But better listen to your mind, or you'll end up like me, nightmares and in the end therapy and medication...your not looked at as weird or funny, if sometimes you just take time of for doing totally nothing, of something you allwayd wanted to do... give your brain more time to relax and to cope with stuff. A stable lifestyle is the only cure...(blah blah I know, but it works!:)

Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride (aka Benadryl or Nite time sleep aid). They tend to make a person drowsy and they are non addictive. If you feel uncomfortable with that, try melatonin. Its completely natural. You can get it over the counter at WalMart. However, if you are going to take the melatonin, keep it on a schedule though.

I drink a cup of "Sleepy Time" Tea.
The ingredients are: chamomile, spearmint, lemon grass, tilia flowers, blackberry leaves, orange blossoms, hawthorn berries, and rosebuds. All of which helps to calm and sooth the nerves and stress.

You should be going to bed later than you do. And i lay in bed and watch tv for about an hour. That always helps me fall asleep. And you can also try reading something. Any reading material will do

I close my eyes and image all the detail of something small like an outfit or picture nothing that would involve deciding something. It makes my mind stop racing.

I take sleeping pills (Tylenol PM). Or I just hit my head until it hurts real bad and I can just lie down and pass out. I don't recommend either of them.
