my hubby is going on an extensive road trip....i'd like to send him with some non-parishable home baked goodies to snack on. I'd like a good mix of things that aren't "fattening" and things that are.... i have the internet, i don't really need recipes, i just need ideas..... any ideas are appreciated!
thanks!

Hi: Is your husband carrying some kind of cooler? most snack items need either a cooler or and air tight container. Cookies of course, packed with slices of bread to keep them fresh. The container needs to be uncrushable (a zip lock won't do. ) Homemade pretzels are always great, frosted with peanut butter or other nut butters . make your own rugala, cheese snacks of all kinds. Nuts and fruits, even dried fruits or your own trail mix. Chex mix makes a nice snack. Mostly, what your husband likes to eat for snacks around home .also send juices and waters.

You can make your own granola bars. Get the bran and whatever you need (and like) from a store, mix it up, put it on a bake rack and boom, you have tasty bars with everything you want on it. Very healthy and great tasting too.

Orange pate de fruits. I'm going to include the link below. It's like a gum drop, only homemade and much much better. Plus they keep a really long time.

My daughter likes roasted vegetables wrapped in tortillas and sliced. She keeps them interior the refrigerator to snack on. you could dip those on your favourite salad dressing in case you like. they save for various days.
