I downloaded Windows Vista from Microsoft and burned the ISO file into a DVD just like they told me to. So now that I finished burning the DVD I popped it in my laptop and got this error.

The application or DLL D:\Sources\SPWIZENG.DLL is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.

When I click on Ok, I get this message.

The file "autorun.dll" could not be loaded or is corrupt. Setup cannot continue. Error code is [0xC1].

What does all this mean?

In response to Steven E, you must pay S&H on it which comes to a little over $10 for the current and future Beta/RC releases.
In response to the question, the Windows Vista disks are ment to be booted, not run from Windows itself, though from the problem you are describing, it sounds like a corrupted disk. Try again with a new disk.

It means that the files that was copied into a image was corrupted.

You need to download another Windows Vista some where else.

There may be two causes:
1. Your autorun.dll file which starts autorun feature is 'dead'.
So try manual installing.
2. The downloaded ISO is corrupted.(If so, use isobuster to repair and recover the corrupted files)
:)

Sounds like you got a corrupt image or a bad burn. Try burning the disc again but at as slow as it possibly can go.

.dll means Dynamic Library Link. It basically means that something on your machine is not compatible with the new Vista software.
