Your weight is just a number, it's your HEALTH that matters.
Forget the junk food, just cause you're skinny doesn't mean you can't have clogged arteries or high blood pressure or cholesterol. Trust me, you're asking for worse trouble than what being underweight could ever bring you.
Try eating carbs, especially whole grains. Pasta, bread, rice, etc. Lots of fruits and veggies, lean protein, and cheese and yogurt and stuff. Eat what you like, but don't overdo it with the junk.
If you want to put on weight, really, it's not the fat you need, it's muscle mass. Exercise. Even if it's just walking or whatever. Add some weights into it, not a lot, you don't wanna turn into the incredible hulk, just enough to tone a bit.
Do it right though, or you'll regret it.
And the bonus is, the more you exercise, and take care of yourself, the better you're going to feel, and the more energy you'll have.
Good luck, be careful!

I remember being like this too! If you had a recent growth spurt, you will eventually gain weight to adjust to that height. If you just have a fast metabolism, you need to build muscle, since this weighs more then fat. When I was very skinny, I ate lots, underweight, but an extremely high percentage of body fat! That's not good, so quit the junk food, it affects your health. Just eat a balanced diet, and excercise 3-5 times a week, or for the least 30 minutes a day. Be proud how mother nature brought you to the world.

Oh, horrors! Junk food does nothing nutrition-wise for your body and could prove harmful eventually. All junk food is, is sugar and trans fats. It's clogging your arteries and making you a prime target for diabetes and other serious diseases.
You need a well-balanced diet that includes protein, good carbs, fruits, veggies, unsaturated fats and dairy products. Eat more generous portions of the good stuff, and have healthy snacks throughout the day, such as fruit, nuts, raw veggies, milk, and an occasional sweet. Ask your doctor to refer you to a dietician who can give you meal-planning ideas that are high in calories and nutrition. Take all that junk food and put it where it belongs -- in the trash can and not in your body. Yikes!

I used to think I was immune to weight gain until I was about 20 or 21. I was 5'9" and 115 lbs. I don't know if it was working at Starbucks and eating all those pastries, if my metabolism just slowed down, or if it was from all that alcohol I drank, but I now have to watch what I eat. If you're younger then your body might just have to catch up. If not, then I suggest getting a job at a place where you can consume 1,500 calories with just a drink and a crumb cake!

Okay, we can hear you. Go to the GNC store and they have a powder you mix w/milk and it puts pounds on you.
Stay away from the junk food, the word JUNK should tell you it is doing nothing for you. Seek out someone who is informed and ask them to aid you in your desired weight.

first off let me say I hate you, LOL. There are drinks out there like Ensure or stuff like that that you can drink with a meal. You don't want to eat a bunch of junk so I think something like that would be you best bet.

You don't have to eat junk food, just eat more. Increase your calories and protein, so that you can gain muscle not fat. Muscle weighs more than fat, and is healthier for your body.
