what do u think about having gum and starbucks and stuff like that during class?Wow i would love school......but what do you think?

Jeez -- gum in school? That was a big no-no when I went to school. Any kid caught with gum had to stand before the class with the wad of gum under his or her nose -- really! Now cigarettes, that was a different story. When I went to high school (back in the Dark Ages) students were allowed to smoke in the classroom or study hall. But gum -- Gawd no! Go figure!

But to answer your question, I don't see the harm in sipping lattes or munching during class, except that it could create a mess of crumbs or spills, and the joy of snacking would detract from the joy of learning:) LoL!

I'm trying to remember when I was in school...yeah i guess we weren't allowed to have anything in class. I think it would be great as long as it wasn't disrupting anyone. (No gum snapping etc). It would probably be a good idea actually. The caffeine would help people stay awake & focus on class. & kids would be more energized & motivated to learn. Good idea! Schools probably won't go for it though...

Hmmm.....When I was in high school we were allowed to bring our coffee to class with us.....most of us brought our whole breakfast to first period most days!!
And as long as we weren't disruptive and blowing bubbles and snapping it, gum was okay too, unless you had to give a presentation or something.
Sounds like your rights are being stepped on, better write a letter to the principal!!

Starbucks thing would be amazing in my classes we are aloud to eat, drink and chew gum!!

when I was in middle school they would not allow gum and now they not only allow gum but coffee drinks...next thing you know it they will allow you to eat your breakfast or lunch whenever you want to.
