Hi, I'm a highschooler and I'd like to sign up for community service because its a "requirement" sort of....
Any tips for where I can find these things?

find a organization that you are interested in what they do in the community, ie; domestic violence agency, local red cross, local salvation army, county founded day care, Big brothers big sisters program, the local YWCA, or United Way agencies.
go directly to them and speak with the manager or the director and ask them if they have any availability or need for volunteer workers , you are interested in doing so. This will usually follow with a interview and application process. then the rest is history. Also your guidance counselor at your school should be able to assist you with the information of agencies or organizations within your community that are willing to have high school volunteer's within the community. What kind of things are you interested in? It's pointless to sign up for something that you hate.. like reading for sick children wouldn't work if the sight of kids makes you want to run screaming. If it's a requirement then probably other people you like to hang out with are also doing this. Find out where they signed up and do the same thing - that way you can have fun at the same time, or hang out afterwards and chat and have coffee.

The safest and most reliable route is through either your school website (there are usually links there). Or, obtain a list of qualifying services and locations from your guidance counselor!

usually if it's for school, they have somehting set up that you can sign up for there. if not go to your local community center, a church, or shelter
