How do you know if you are clinically depressed, or if you just feel bad?

If you feel sad or like crying for more than 2 weeks in a row .. that is an indication that you may be suffering from depression. Go to: www.webmd.com and look under depression.. lots of helpful information. Good Luck! :)

u no if u r clinically depressed if u just feel bad for prolonged periods of time (so long as its not bereavement) & it affects your life

When a doctor, or clinician diagnoses you as having and suffering from depression

If you are sad all of the time, and derive no pleasure from anything then it is time to go to a doctor and talk with them.

There are many treatments available.

depression: i think it's when you feel sad for about 2 weeks straight and you just don't feel like saying anything or doing anything. unsure

I believe the medical diagnosis is if the symptoms last two weeks or more - eating much more or much less than usual, sleeping much more or much less than usual, lack of interest in things you normally enjoy, tearfulness, thoughts of self-harm, lack of interest in sex.
