We have a nightly tummy rubbing ritual before bedtime. I think dogs are like children....they like ritual, and especially ones that make them feel safe and loved.

My dog is spoiled rotten.
She eats a high quality food, eats all natural freeze dried treats (dried sting ray tail is her current fave), gets groomed every day, goes for 2 interesting walks each and every day, and a professional massage once a week.
Her current favorite place to go for a walk is the trail in the state park. There is a river to swim in, and plenty of squirrels to chase. We also rent a canoe there every once in a while, and she just loves to ride down the river. Last month it was a park near our house with a pond full of frogs to be chased (blech!), before that it was the woods behind our house to look for deer.
Today I made her some treats. I just mix a little bit of honey with some chunky peanutbutter, roll into balls, and refrigerate. I usually order treats from http://www.petextras.com
The biggest way that I spoil all of my animals is with love and attention.

buy him treats that he likes but give it to him only once in a while. you could let them on your bed or couches. Also, walk him throw a ball, do things you normally dont do. My dogs love car rides!!! also dogs sometime like to sorta play soccer. I have an english springer spaniel and i use a tennis racket to make the ball go really far, so try that to.

Everyone says I spoil my dogs without even realizing it. They go with me every where. we go for walks and rides. We stay at home and play ball, we play with the cat and the neighborhood kids. We visit other dogs in the neighborhood. But my favorite thing we do is all go to bed in our king size bed: my 7yr old male rott sleeps with his head on my pillow, my 3mo old kitten sleeps on the left side of my pillow and my 5yr old female rott sleeps on my feet. My spouse thinks we should get another bed for him to sleep in!!!!!!! I love all four of them so much.

On cold fall & winter days when we make chicken soups or beef stews we give some to our dogs (st. bernard & newfoundland) and they love it ... just mix it in w/their food and they go to town! I also take them for daily walks and my dogs love water so the beaches or ponds are great little day trips for them! Have fun!

Play their favorite game if they have one. Mine like to chase the ball down our hallway, the little one gets the big one started...who can bring it back first!
You can spoil by giving them a cookie (dog treat) when you come home to greet them...they will learn to expect it...
You can spoil by taking them on car rides...
my dogs think when i put my tennis shoes on that it automatically means we are all going for a walk LOL
If I say who wants to go for a ride...the barking begins...its funny...
Believe it or not my smallest dog likes accessories LOL...she likes her little necklace, her jacket and wearing clothes..even her harness she likes! She throws a fit when you remove them!!!
Just do what fits your lifestyle...good luck and have fun! :)

Teach them to play fetch, and teach them the basic obedience commands using food based positive reinforcement.

Once a month, I will boil a chicken, debone it (throw the bones away, please), add rice, tiny amount of salt. (Like homemade soup without the spices)
I make enough for four days, and every Sunday they (my dogs) get it mixed with their regular dry food. They love it.
