OK, ignoring how many people speak the language, amd purely based on whether you like saying the words etc...... which language is more fun: French or German? I would say German every time because the words are hilarious (to me) !!! For example, if you would like a chocolate flake in your 99 you ask for "eine Schokoflocke" (although I might have spelt that wrong). I rest my case.

German every time.

It's far more literal language than French, in that the words / sentences are very decriptive as in "the object that performs function x"

I had to learn some technical German when I was repairing electronic equipment, it's much easier to get to grips with than technical French!

I am slightly biased though, I learned Afrikaans at school and it's a bit of a mixture of Duch, German and some other bits thrown in. A bit like English really..

German can be amusing to English speakers. I remember a leaflet concerning ski wax. Because the English tend to use the French word 'piste' for the track, the translator decided to keep the German word, so the leaflet stated: 'If the fahrt is dry use...
If the fahrt is wet use...'
In a toilet at a motorway service station, they had those over-sized toilet roll dispensers. The trade name was 'Big Willy', presumably they meant 'Big Wheelie.'
French can also be amusing for people who have a little knowledge of the language. For instance, I saw a sticker on a mobile toilet declaring, 'Je suis à louer' (I am for hire). To me it seemed to be a superfluous statement.
German is great for translators. The client gives you an estimated word count and you end up with a third more in English, because you split up all those long complicated words.

French is more fun: vivacious and sparkling. But German is funny. However, say so at your peril! Years ago a German colleague stopped speaking to me because I said that the word "Blumenkohl" was funny. And in retrospect, the idea of falling out with someone over a cauliflower is even funnier!

I really love learning languages, and I can differ some languages, and I`m able to tell what language is it, even if i don`t understand what it means.

Each language has it`s rule and character.
I never learn german before, because German has a long words, and harder to pronounce.

So, French might be more fun for me.

I like German even though I can barely make myself understood, there is something about it that makes it so much more interesting than other languages. I know that the general consensus of opinion says that French, Spanish, or even Japanese, are more useful I still would rather learn German.

Yeah german can be really funny, especially with those really long words, and the way when you're speaking it, no matter how softly it always sounds like you're telling somebody off.
French is cute, and soft and sort of romantic. But German is hilarious, plus I spent 12 years of my life trying to learn it, so I'd have to say german.

Oh, I love the sounds of German, but if I try speaking it myself, German speakers nearby roll over on the ground in tucks because my German sounds as if I'm putting on a Jamaican accent.

German is funnier! I haven't got a clue what the German words are, but their version of "nipple" (for a lady) is "breast wart"! Even one of the most beautiful things mother nature has provided us is given an efficient and descriptive name by our Bavarian friends! No wonder they're cars are so well put together!

They have no concept of beauty, purely efficiency, and it works! Therefore, their language is more comical because it is accurate!

German. It's easier to speak and learn than French, and your teacher is less likely to shout "Eeuugh!" at you!

Seriously though ... German's more fun and has longer words. This makes it fun!!!
