Let's say that person remarries. It is an act of adultery, but this sin, like all others except one, is forgiven by accepting Christ. That "act" is not an ongoing state and at that point, those two people are married and should live as such. They should strive to be good spouses, and their divorce and subsequent acts could be considered adultery.

In the first place you would have to have a reason to get a divorce wouldn't you ?????
Do you know what adultery is ????
Voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a partner other than the lawful spouse.

It doesn't have much to do with the reason for divorce. This depends entirely on the religion. If this divorced person follows a religion that requires annulment, then it must be annuled, or else they are committing adultery.

Hi malecats,
God is very clear that he does not like divorce- and in the Bible there are only 2 provisions for divorce: 1) in the case of adultery. 2) in cases where it is dangerous for the couple to remain together (ie: abusive husbands, etc.)
People are mixed as to whether or not one can get re-married after getting divorced.
i think to get divorced without reason is obviously something that is contrary to the will of God. Whether it is adultery or not does matter.
The good news of Jesus is that there is not a sin we can commit (other than denying Him by blasphemying the Holy Spirit) that He can not forgive. i sense in your asking that you are sincere and i hope that you will open your heart to God.
hope that helps,
Nickster
