If you have a pinched nerve it is most likely a vertebral problem, like a herniated disk or a disk turning or out of place. These kinds of problems require something more than a home remedy. You may even need vertebral traction, which means going to see a specialist.
Numbness in the elbow and hand may not mean a pinched nerve, though. Are you sure it is? Ultimately you are going to have to see a doctor. Sorry I can't give you better news.

Bursitis may be the cause of your discomfort, this can be caused by your job you have, the movement you put your body through and if this is your dominating shoulder. Even how you sleep can exacebrate the pain. Can get so bad that it can take steroid shots into the affected area for lengths of comfort. Sometimes as easy as resting the affected area in a sling when you can for a couple of weeks when you are off work of course... Ibuprofen will help take the inflammation down and make it easier to deal with..Stay away from the scripts if you can. Ice will help you heal also... Good Luck

I hope you went to the doctor to find out if it was a pinched nerve. Any numbness isnt good if it radiates to the elbow and hand.

Don't really think so. You need to alleviate the compression on that nerve. I go to a chiropractor for my symptoms and it has helped tremendously.
