Honestly, I have always been an atheist, and I no longer believe that I have any choice in the matter. I can't force myself to believe in a god, so I have to ask, for theists, can you, right now, become an atheist? Can you actually stop your belief in a God if you wanted to? Why or why not?

No one could actually make that choice, and anyone who asserts that they can is absurd.

Sure you can. Most people who stop believing in God has had something terrible happen in there life. If there was a God, why would this have happened? unless you believed in God when you were young, and then as you got older decided on your own that there was no God.

I believe that as we process information which gives us our opinion on believing in something or not. I also believe that you took information, processed it and came to the conclusion that there is no God, but it was your choice, and (not saying you will) if down the line you find information that makes you think there is a God, you will choose to change your mind.

That is how free will works baby!!!!!!

I can't stop believing in God, because I have a real relationship with Him. Just like I can't stop believing in my sister, or my dad or friend, because I have a relationship with them. There may be times when I stop feeling close to God, just like when I don't spend time with my sister, I feel far away from her, but I couldn't ever stop believing. There is no proof that there is no God. And enough studying in biology, astronomy and anthropology has made it even more evident that there is "intelligent design"

no I could not stop believing in God cause He is what defines me, I know He is always with me. And as for choosing to not believe in God right now, sure, you can choose to not believe. However, you have no idea when you might die and if you do die and are not a believer, well, you are probably going to wish that you had chosen to believe.

How sad it would be to have to give meaning to ones life by embracing a made-up god. It is easy to give up because god is the end result of a failed search for truth by a very shallow mind, provided that any search was made at all instead of swallowing the pile of delusional bilge that was spoon fed to you as a child

My faith is pretty set in stone, but I'm always up for people questioning my faith or even myself questioning it. It always brings me closer and stronger in believing. If the time came where I notice my faith isn't correct I'd very much like to think I would come to that realization and be strong enough to change.

GOD, knows his childre, and to every person he has given free will, (choice) to invite him into your life or to live life without him, He will not come to you unless you invite him into your life. TO ALL ATHEISTS< YOU ALL HAVE FREE CHOICE < THAT IS A GIFT FROM GOD!!
