In Paris, France in the late 1700's early 1800's , before that they just used the bathroom wherever, how sanitary and nasty that must have been. Have guests over and they just squat and take care of business in the corner.

I saw this in a commercial! I don't remember what year exactly but it was in Paris, France in the 1700's.
