This is a proposed law for the State of California. It is a ZERO TOLERANCE law that would only affect drivers who are 16 and 17 years old. The theory behind it is that because it is already illegal for this age group to drink alcoholic beverages, they definitely don't need to get behind the wheel of an automobile if they do.

Awesome! Didn't hear the item, but that would be wonderful. It would get all those impaired and semi-impaired drivers off the roads. And it would certainly be a boost for the buddy campaign, where one person in the party stays sober so s/he can drive the others safely home.
