Try vaseline or baby oil. Hold the front of the earring (on the front side of your ear) and rotate the back around and around. When you think the vaseline or baby oil is worked around, hold the front of the earring and pull FIRMLY. Don't hurt yourself. Have someone else do it for you if you can't get it.

You also might try and soak it loose with warm water.

Sounds like whoever did your piercing didn't give you very good after care instructions.
I was instructed to "twist" the earrings several times a day, and squeeze the antiseptic over the front and back of the earrings three times per day.
I think I would soak both the front and back of the earrings several times a day, and while they are damp, begin to try to twist the earring and its backing. I would do this for several days before trying to remove the earrings. You might want to have a friend with you when you remove the "starters" in case you have trouble getting the new pair in. They can get them in easier than you can. Trust me, I know. I couldn't get my new pair in for anything. In part it was because I was still sort of scared of them. But since then, I've even gotten my second hole in each ear, and have no problem with changing them.
Good luck, and just take it slow.

sometimes the gun can misfire and the back can be on crooked. This is the time to get a friend to help you, because if you pull hard enough to get them off, you could end up hitting yourself right in the face when they DO come apart! Have a friend help and pull the earring from the back firmly.

PS: make sure they aren't the screw on kind first!

This is hardly a trait constrained to Mexican women, as some Oriental women and lots of goth/alt-type people do it too. I don't get it either, but when the topic came up in conversation once, what someone said was, "They must just really hate their old eyebrows... if they had any to begin with." In terms of women of certain ethnicities do it, I can only hypothesize. Mexican and Oriental women often have very similar eyebrows - sparse, covering a large area, and black. The sparseness over a large area makes it difficult to pluck the brows, as they would be left with very little anyway. Finding a black eyebrow pencil to match their brows would be difficult, as matching synthetic black shades (eg dye) to hair tends to look really fake. They probably don't want that constrast highlighted, and so just eliminate their pencil's competition, considering it the only way to get the brows they want. That's my theory. I personally think it looks like a freak show technique. Don't do it, ladies! Appreciate your natural brows!

Try twisting it as you pull on it. Most of the time, beginner's studs are quite tough to take out.
