Not now, not ever! It's expensive, addidtive, and it will kill you in a few years. In the meantime you will stink like smoke, and your clothes will stink, too. And it's known to be bad for your sex life. The only one who benefits from smoking is the shareholder in tobacco companies. And believe me you'll have a lot of stress from the coughing and wheezing and the withdrawal symptoms when you want to stop, which almost everyone does eventually.

Please don't start, you will regret it! I smoked for14 years and now have been smoke free for over a year, it was hard to quit. If you are trying to reduce stress, why not start taking a yoga class? Try passion flower, scullcap or another herb nervine?
Chew gum or go for a walk, anything but start smoking..it's a stimulant anyway, so really doesn't relax the nerves and instead causes a lot of health problems down the road.
Good luck!

NO! Don't smoke. There are many habits/hobbies you can pick up better. To relieve stress you can go for a jog, excercise or take a bath. All of that has been proven to relieve stress! Don't take up something that can kill you if you can do something that can help your body!

Okay I am going to answer your question not with a utter distate for smokes but with an open opinion. I cannot stand the taste of cigs; just take like garbage to me. I smoke cigars. Let me explain. Cigs have chemicals in the and the paper you smoke with them is also very bad for you. A ALL NATURAL (there more than you can think of) cigar is nothing but pure pleasure to smoke. After a stressfull day at work I come home and light one up and pop open a beer and savor every last puff. Never will i go back to cigs. REMEMBER, THE CHEMICALS IN THEM CAUSE CANCER, NOT THE TOBACCO.

I have never smoked, but I know people who do smoke and they are not happy with their habbit. My advice to you is to not start a habbit that will not get you anything possitive. Smoking will destroy your lungs, affect your breath, fingernails get a yellowish color and it cost a lot of money.

it does in part not necessarily the actual smoke it to me is more physiological you could chew gum re-leave stress if you be leave that. these activities provide distraction. smoking constricts blood vessels so i do see how it can physiologically re-leave stress as that creates high blood pressure. most people hate it after they have been smoking for a while and wish they could quit, so why start.
thats just how i feel

smoking calms me down instantly and i feel so relaxed. ive been smoking on and off for around three years, not often though.
the first few times it burns your throat and you cough like mad, afterwards its just like drinking coffee.
it's very unhealthy for you and the smell gets in your hair and clothes and mouth though... so its good and bad.
i'd say dont do it, take up hash tea with honey instead! youll be stress free instantly and it doesnt even smell like pot.
that wasnt sarcasm by the way.
dont smoke ciggies! smoke the friendly green leaf insteaddd.

not only would you likely cut years off your life, but you would hurt others around you. second hand smoke can do as much damage as is done to the smoker.
