Is there a such thing as joining the military with a combat exclusive contract? I was just wondering because I am considering the military. I don't mind going to war, but I would prefer to not go if there was a way to get out of it.

I said that I do not mind combat. I just heard someone say that they signed a combat exclusive contract, and I was wondering if there was such a thing. I don't mind fighting if I have to.

There are plenty of choices first the Navy or Air Force seldom get close to a combat zone usually have a warm dry bed and a hot meal. The other two branches have plenty of MOS's that would keep you out've combat, instructor, radar operator or even the locations you serve. You could claim conscience objector but I think you would be happier in a civilian job. God luck and God bless you and the Southern People.

You want the check, but not earn it??? You sound like a welfare canidate, not a soldier or sailor I'd serve with. Son I don't know what school has made you into the creature you've be come. But I suggest you get your money back and grow some guts. Not everybody goes to war. Hell there guys who sit all day in a missle silo in North Dakota making Fantasy Football picks. But one day they may get the call to turn a key a nuke a city. On Sept . 11th a lot of guys in cushy office gigs in the Pentagon got killed while reading a memo & drinking coffee. Jessica Lynch was a truck driver in a support unit. Yet she became a POW. The point is all jobs may require you to fight. From cook to F16 pilot.

If you are in a non-combatant specialty you will not have to bear arms. That would include medical or Chaplain Corps for the most part. That would NOT keep you out of a war zone however. Today those specialties are MORE likely to serve in a war zone for pretty obvious reasons.

The military is all about fighting wars to protect America. You, however, want to avoid combat. So why DO you want to join the military??

Just join the Navy as personnel or something and you should be on a ship away from the action, but there are no guarantees.
