As with many ideas about health, this is based on old, unproven idea. Orientals place great faith on ginseng and seal penis, and use deer penis in a kind of brandy but it does nothing. Another idea is that chocolate stimulates libido but again there is no conclusive proof and it is the satisfaction rather than the stimuli that might work. In some cultures, cinnamon is supposed to be sexy and while the aroma is pleasant...no fact. Spanish fly is also thought to be aphrodisiac but it doesn't work, and make cause a few problems too. Men are attracted by scent and there are pheromones available, as well as delicate perfumes that do stimulate them...but remember, that the nose soon becomes insensitive to the aroma of perfumes...pheromones are natural attractants produced by animals...people too...and one type is musk (used in many perfumes), so a male animal can literally smell a receptive female from a long distance. People also believe that foods alter the libido, and many say oysters...they are shaped like a testicle and therefore are 'potent' but it isn't so. Many cultures attach significance to the shape of the food, and in China, it is believe that a ginseng root shaped like a man (two roots forming the legs, and another representing the penis) is very good...and expensive.

The usual items, oysters, chocolate, and I've heard spicy food. Spicy on the basis that it gets the blood flowing good.

None really...oysters and olives are said to be, but chocolate is probably the best.
