I think you misunderstood the Aussie's governmental proclamation. Nobody told anybody to "drop their cultural heritage". The problem isn't cultural heritage at all! The problem was, certain Muslim Imams were using their religious soapboxes to preach hatred against the non-Islamic Australians, urging their parishoners to BREAK CIVIL LAW in order to set up Sharia law in the land.
You know, silly civil laws like "Do Not Murder" and "Don't blow up yourself in the middle of a supermarket" and "Don't turn your minivan into a bomb to destroy the local post office". Annoying little inconviences like that.
Anybody choosing to move to Australia should respect the law of the land, unless that law DEMANDS the citizen commit a sin. Does Australian law demand that Islamic women be prostitutes? No. Does Australian law demand that Islamic men molest children? No. Does Australian law demand that any Islamic person run naked in public, eat pork, have an abortion, talk bad about Muhammed? No.
So what is the problem? As long as you don't use your devotion to Sharia law to commit warlike acts against the government or citizens of Australia, you are free to live there. You can still wear whatever clothing you want, speak as many languages as you want, celebrate whatever holidays you please, worship peacefully, pray 5 times a day. Nobody will care.

The Australian government did not say to drop all of their culture, etc.,. They said that Australian law is the law of the land. If anyone does not want to support the country, then leave.
There are Jewish laws that are religious laws. But they work hand in hand with the law of the land. They do not try to over-ride the laws. Example: In Orthodoxy, the husband must sign a ''GET'' before there is a religious divorce. As a legal divorce is needed, thru the courts, this is gotten. If a Jew wants to abide by this alone--fine. If they want a religious divorce to make it ''real'' to the Jewish community, this is also fulfilled. But, the two laws on divorce do not interfere with each other. There are many examples of things like this.
There is no reason communities cannot abide by the law of the land, as well as their religious laws.
This is not apartheid. When a person chooses to live in any given land, they must respect the law of the land.

Australia is a deliberately MULTICULTURAL society and has been for 50 years. Get your facts straight. We CHOOSE to welcome people from all over the world and to have a culturally rich society. It is our choice, and we (meaning all of us) would be ENTITLED to wind down further immigration if we wanted to. But we are not going to.
Recently some "Australian"-hating islamic fundamentalist imams have taken up residence and preach hate and disrespect for the law. They preach that their follows should disregard all the laws of our country. We are entitled to deal with this problem. And we are entitled to suggest they go somewhere where they find the laws more to their liking.
If you weren't so blindly prejudiced you might have looked in to what was really happening instead of shooting your racist mouth off.

Well, if you moved to France you'd be asked to follow their cultural restrictions which includes no wearing of religious symbols in places like school or work. It is choice, you don't have to live there.
