I know you're looking for real answers, and therefore you may find the following link a little offensive. I am an atheist, but come from a very strong Christian family and as such have huge respect for people who live a Christian life and would, therefore, never intentionally mock the religion. This link takes you to a very blasphemous story, but in my (Christian) educated mind it poses a valid question - Do we see God every day and not even know it?

The problem is, in translating the Old Testament from the Torah things were taken literally that were cultural-clues as to the 'type' of "record" that was involved. In Aramaic cultures, for example, 'made by the Finger of God' does not actually mean that God made the item in question, but that it is of the finest quality possible....so it is quite likely that the commendments that were 'written by the Finger of God' were just the best ones that any human or groub of humans could devise. Throughout the Torah, wherever God appears physically or does things the way humans would do them (ride animals, sits down on rocks, etc), this is a cue that the story with which this starts is a parable, meant to teach but not to be taken absolutely literally.
So it's not the population, it's understanding the nature of YHVH and the difficulties that inheriting and customizing someone else's religion brings.

We see a gradual progression of God coming closer and closer to humanity in spirit. I believe as he grew closer to us spiritually he has withdrawn doing huge spectacles and miracles because that simply doesnt lead to lasting faith. His dealings with Israel at many times were manifested earthly on purpose just as this new age we are living in, God manifests himself in a way he never has; spiritually! It is not that he is showing signs of wekaness at all. he has chosen this Messianic age in history where his kingdom is on earth manifested in us as believers and has not necessarily afforded us protection like he has to his children in the past. Probably so that evil can reach a certain measure until end times. God is only going to tolerate so much evil then he is going to put it to an end and he can do it faster by not always intervening!
BTW- God help anybody who is seeking theological perspective from George Carlin!

You cannot see God and live, not personally, his glory would make you weak, that's why he came as Jesus human form. God can come as other things such as a cloud, burning bush, etc. God can use any voice, when God talked to Noah, God use Noah's voice.
I felt God's presence intervene to me once, and I felt what he said to me, his words in my head.
God's power is unlimited, he has massive power. God's Holy ghost is at work on the earth, God controls everything from above, and yes God does send Angels and family Spirits to us when were in need, I seen at least three the past two years, they communicate some to me, they were completely white and glowing, they started coming around me my girl friend and my son, it all started after some prayers of protection for me my son and his mother. I have since I was four, either I see them or I feel their presence, and either I know what they are thinking or they are communicating to me in that form, one has spoke out loud to me.
God lives in our hearts, in every heart, basically it's like the phone system, God's Spirit is as fast or faster then electric, God is the creator of our Spirits, we are his thoughts.

God is not an energy form.
People are energy forms.
Creation forms when energy explodes
and interfaces with invisible forces that
we know as Laws Of Physics.
God is the Laws Of Physics. The forces
that shape energy bits into life.
And of course, laws of physics are everywhere.
Thus, God is everywhere.
Time and space are only by products
of this action. Time and space are not
constants. We are constants. God is
a constant.
We have two stages. Particle and quantum.
Right now, we are in our particle stage. This
is as close to God as we ever get.
When we die, we are in our quantum stage.
We're not judged by God when we die.
We meet our judgement each time we are
born. We only show up in a genetic situation
of which we are a part.
The impressions we put on quarks (energy bits)
today, will shape our tomorrow.
Jesus once said, "In my Father's house are many
mansions."
Now, two thousand years later, allow me to humbly
say this, "Also in my Father's house are many shacks.
Whether we live in a mansion or a shack, will depend on
how much effort we put into life."

God could appear before man again. I don't really expect that He would since Jesus came as a man and was crucified. Jesus will appear again in the second coming and the Word says that every eye will see! imagine everyone being able to see at the same time Jesus!!

I do not know where you are at. but there is not such a thing as a god. There are millions of god. a lot of them floating on fire down the river gangies. Look Religion is for the needy of mind. Then, it makes those people needy of money etc, by having like ten kids, and living in poverty all in the name of Catholisim or whatever. No religion, no God, just Truth, trust, and yerself mate.

I think this falls under the same category of "how does God listen to everyone's prayers all at once."
Ultimately, I think it comes down to that He is not subject to time the same way you and I are.
And I do think He speaks to people face to face even today, I expect it's a very sacred experience though, so that many that see him probably don't go around talking about it very much.

Not really a question of can he, but does or will he. I think yes to both, but many probably don't even know it's him. So ignore his advice. From my point of view, god is alive and living amongst all now. Funny how everyone is looking for him, and he's right in front of them all the time.

God is God. He can do whatever he pleases. If he wanted to appear, it would not be beyond the realm of his abilities. However, God has told us that there would be no more revelations after the bible, so he is not going to be appearing before us (or any one or two of us) giving us new guidance that does not appear in his book.
