i find it a fascinating subject and one that isnt easily dismissed
i have read a few books by Dr Raymond Moody on the subject
and his work is wonderful on this subject
when children from different cultures and religions are reporting similar experiences in an NDE .. you have to wonder why

While Astral projecting I have often interacted with those who were making the final journey of their life.
Several years ago, when I tried to be a CNA, I helped a man {who was too rich for the medical establishment to allow to die} learn to Astral project and leave his disabled, constant-source-of-pain body far behind.
These experiences have sttrengthened my beliefs (but one of the dangers of Astral work, since you intepret everything thru your belief-set so much more than you do while physical, is that everything will just strengthen your current belief-set.)

there are some who have died and been brought back to life. my wife had been one of those. when She talked about the experience She told me there was a long black tunnel which She was walking down towards a bright light but as She neared there was some sort of force which prevented her from going on so She was forced to return.

I think it's our brain's last-ditch effort to hold on to life. As the brain get starved of oxygen in the process of dying, it releases chemicals to try and keep itself going just in case the situation is temporary and the body can recover. Those chemicals cause rapid-fire action in the synapses, over-stimulating all of the sensory receptors (which is why people speak of "bright light" -- the optical receptors are getting flooded with signal), and reinforcing memory connections (which is why people think they "see" long-lost friends and relatives). If the body does recover and they are revived, they remember the signals the flood of chemicals caused, though none of it was "real."
Not only is that what I think, it's been proven by scientific studies :)

I think Ian Stevenson is a scientist on this topic who has studied about 3000 cases of children reporting things about their past lives that can be traced back to real people who had died.

No one has ever had one.
There might be near death experiences, but these are radically different from actual death experiences, and are related to electonic impulse activity in the brain.

Having never experienced any (that I know of), I can't really say. And that's ok.
