No, it is not rude at all. People in our neighbor hood's almost expect you to come to your neighbor's garage sales. And we look forward to the garage sales every time they have one. They even have a yearly street sale. And so they know its not rude for neighbors to come. and some times on the towards the end they will have 1/2 price off for the neighbor's to who come for the stuff who didn't sell! and i've gotten great deal's that way for thing's that i've wanted that way!

I don't know because I haven't been to one since I was a child. However, in two separate places I've lived, another family has invited us and others to join in their annual garage sale. They didn't ask for a percentage, in case somebody wondered, and I know that there was some cross-buying of each others' stuff.

I guess it depends on your relationship with your neighbors. They are, however, the ones willing to put their stuff on display in hopes of getting money, so they are inviting people to look at it.

Q. Why does someone have a garage sale?
A. They hope to sell items that they no longer have a use for.

RUDE??? They WANT people to come and browse and hopefully BUY things. That's WHY they made a garage sale? Do you think they're hoping that their neighbors won't come?? Are you on drugs?
Could I have some?

If they didn't want their neighbors to buy their stuff, they would set up shop somewhere else. I would show up to browse and chat with them, as a show of support, if I liked them/knew them well enough, but I wouldn't buy stuff at my neighbor's garage sale though. It's not rude to do so, but I prefer not to.

I love to have my neighbors come to my sales. If they don't , I feel somewhat slighted. I think, probably they don't want my junk or even look at it. No it is not rude. You should go and just let them know your friendly. You don't have to buy anything, but just go to be a polite, good neighbor. I know they will like to see you. Good way to get to speak to them.

I don't think its rude! I do it all the time, but I live in a really small town and a yard sale is about the most exciting thing that could happen.

A few years ago I would not go. But now, yes I would. If I saw something I liked I will buy it neighbor or not.

I don't think so, I have done it many times and purchased items that I needed or wanted. Just don't ask for a neighbor discount, LOL

Never say Never, strike up a conversation with your neighbor! Could have some sharing talents!

Also, you might find a drill saw or something. Chill.

I don't see anything wrong with it. You don't have to buy anything. Your neighbors are selling stuff. You can go over and look or you can stay home.

It's not rude to go over and look. It's rude to make impolite comments about he/she is selling, however!
