this is a puzzle u got 2 count the reds..can any1 help its wrecking my head,

15 years ago i had the answer when we were given it in a lesson @ junior skool buggered if i can recall 1hour ago. can anyone help me please

I got 21 because I counted the "red"s tht actually were just reds, then the reds hidden in other words but in the right order (though I included the backwards one in ladder) then decided that I woudl count a red for each shoe and each ladder. I didn't count the reds that I could make by taking all the "r"s the "e"s and the "d"s and combining them in every different way! I'm too tired!

tha answer is 7 if your only counting the word "RED" horizontally (from side to side).

but! i dont know if its part of the puzzle or not but you can see the word "(red)" 2 more times if you read tha puzzle from top to bottom, that makes the answer 9.

(are the words "favourite" and "colour" supposed to have a "u" in it..is the 3rd line, "LIVESI N REDDITCH" a typo-mistake or part of the puzzle?)
but if your counting ALL the "red" i guess you would add the numbers next to the color, that would make the answer ummmm 85 or 87..lol
so, the answer is either 7 or 85, or 9 or 87...am i right?!?!?!

7 if you count the backwards one in ladders
unless you have to count the 12 & 4! which would be 23!
you wouldn't include 62 because it's the number of the bus.
