for the licking get a c-collar and for the jumping there is really nothing you can do they are going to do that and the fact that he can even after surgery is a good thing.

I just got my cat neutered about 2 weeks ago. By the next day, he was running around as if he didn't even get neutered in the first place.
I don't know why people are telling you to get the cones. I've mostly seen that on dogs. But, the neutering isn't as serious as it seems. They're just tiny little slits. No major incisions, no stitches. The same day my cat got neutered, he was starting to lick it later on that night. But there were no problems. It's been two weeks now and he's healed perfectly.
There shouldn't be any major worries unless there's serious/heavy bleeding.
Good luck!!

The surgery isn't as serious as you might imagine. There may not even be any sutures. If there are no sutures licking will only help in the healing process. There are tiny slits that are made in each "sack" when left open they will drain a little which is fine as long as you don't see any bright red blood. Animals are amazing and unlike humans in the way they respond to surgery. I have seen a dogs front leg removed only to see him standing as soon as the sedative has worn off. The same with C-section dogs, they are a lot tougher than us! He will be fine, don't worry too much cause he isn't!

You can get a little soft collar that looks like a lampshade and he will not be able to lick so much. After a week it won't be so bad. I doubt there's anything you can do about the jumping, though your vet will tell you you should. What can you do, lock him in a cage for a week? Everything will be fine with the little lampshade collar. My kitten even got into it. Thought he was a little lion.

If you have a pet carrier that will stop the running and jumping and if you put a stop bite collar on that will control the licking. He should be fine after just a couple of days.

running around and jumping will probably be most impossible to have the cat stop, but as for the licking you need to go back to the vet and get one of those funny cones to put around his head. i had the same problem about a month ago. good luck!

the licking to the area of surgery will do no harm to the cat. the cat's ability to promote healing is in the tongue. I suggest you put the kitty in a cage for a few days with food and cat litter. Otherwise if he feels good enough to run around let him.

Hi, my 6 month old kitty just got neutered, he was a bit sleepy and not himself for a day or so. You can't stop him, he's just trying to clean himself. As for jumping around too much, he will only do as much as he is capable of, if it hurts he will stop.

cant give advice on the jumping but as far as the licking hes healing himself with his tongue. Its perfectly normal for animals to lick their wounds, that were the saying comes from.

He's probably just fine. Two little stitches. If you feel very concerned just call the vet. You can get a collar for him and I don't think it should be necessary at all.
If he is running and jumping around he feels fine and it won't hurt him one bit.
