I want something with 5 megapixel and above. What brand and model should it be? How much it cost?

I use a kodak Z740 Digital camera - which produces 5mp stills (VERY good quality) and what i would call "standard" quality video. Nothing to make a blockbuster from but far better than a mobile phone etc etc..

hope it helps

For still images and ok video then a digital camera is the best.
But for excellent quality video you need a handycam. (and no, a handycam cannot take photos as good as a still camera).
I would suggest Canon as the best brand for digital camera and they have an excellent 'movie' mode.
Look at A540, A620, A630...or the smaller Powershot SD models...SD 630 or SD 800 IS.
All the above cameras should cost between $200-$400.

If you want great stills buy a digital SLR - Canon or Nikon. If you want great video buy a Sony MiniDV camcorder. You won't get both in a single package.
