My husband and i have decided to take a city break in afew weeks time. Im 5 months pregnant and id like to go to New York City. But my husband is thinking more on the lines of it being "A Dirty weekend in Europe". Now dont get me wrong....i dont mind the dirty weekend but why cant it be in New York. He worrys about the cost of the trip.. but it could be awhile, til we get this opportunity of a weekend away again. .Has anyone out there got the answer.????

Why don't you try and write a list of 5 cities you want to go to in order of preference and see if you get a match. Or then you can just go on assuring your bloke that a weekend in NY can be dirty as well...

You are the one that will appreciate the break most, and you should have the priority given that it will be a long, long time before you can think of another trip like this. New York!
There is so much to do that is unique and, in fact, it is an easier and less expensive trip than to any European city. If your husband prices out the costs in Europe, he will have sticker shock, and the trip is a long one with built in jet lag. If it's a weekend, your principal recollections upon return will be travel and fatigue.
In the meantime, NYC offers so much: fine restaurants, Broadway shows (purchase tickets at the mid town discount booth), the bright lights, sightseeing ( including the cruse around Manhattan tour) museums, galleries, shopping, ice stating at Rockefeller Center or Central park, bundle up and take a horse drawn carriage tour in the park, and just about anything else imaginable that you would like to do. Tell him that it's a special time for you beacuse of the baby, and that you want it to be special because it could be your last for a while. Also tell him that there's a treat you can give him when you go to New York. There is no treat, but he needn't know that.
flights to NY are getting cheaper by the day. go with the right airline at the right time and all will be well. It's be nicer anyway.
A dirty weekend is fine, but when it's in Europe it just sounds a bit... ...well, dirty if you see what I mean.

NYC - We have done trips to paris,rome, vienna and milan recently. The 5 days we spent in new york were the best. I planned it all on the net - used expedia to save time over there. We did the all sites, stretch limo from the airport,helicopter flight, chicago on broadway and had a great time. Do it while u can, cause the kids can put your plans back years!
