Anyone can, but i would take time...
I want to go for gymnastic so then my martial art foundation would be increased but then they would only accept ages 12 and under and i am 15. LOL.
You can try doing the splits at home. Just force yourself a little bit a day while streching. If you want to do flips, you must be able to do a hand stand first. These are the things i am trying to do now lol. Hope this helps. ^^

Really, there is not any practical reason for doing the full splits. It might happen as a side product of your training but it is not necasarry for good kicking. I know some truly amazing kickers who cannot do the full splits. I think it is more important to be flexable enough for the techniques you want to execute, but more than that is just showing off. I am flexable enough to throw any kick in my curriculem, and do it well, but I have never been able to do the full splits and I have never tried.

Size & weight aren't obsticles. Age & genetics can be. Some people are naturally flexible, some aren't. Anyone can improve flrxibility with practice &, if starting young, can develop the flexibility to do the full splits. If you lack natural flexibility & are middle aged, don't expect miricles.

I'm 5'10" and 275 and 39 and I can do a full split and I know people bigger and older than me that can do the full splits as well. Just takes time to stretch the tendons, ligaments and muscles in the legs and hips to accomplish it.

absolutely, it's just a matter of stretching a little bit at a time on a daily basis, they make stretching machines (awma.com has several models to choose from) that allow you to adjust it at increments to allow for widening your stretching ability.
you're muscles work like rubber bands; the more you stretch, the looser they'll get to allow further stretching to eventually get the full range, over time with age you'll lose some of the ability but not much; especialy if you' re stretching on a daily basis to keep up the elasticity in your leg muscles.

Yes it is just painful and time consuming if you are not already flexible. You just have to stretch every day and eventually with enough persistance and keeping up with it everyday you will be able to do the splits too. It is all about training your body to do what you want.

Not everyone may be capable due to their particular musculature or skeletal make-up. I could never, in over 20 years of training, stretch very far side to side, but front to back was quite flexible. I have never been able to reach a full split in any event, and a doctor told me once that it was due to my particular musculature structure in my legs.

yes, it may take years of stretching, but it can be done. I hated stretching as a kid, but when I started TKD I had too, now I am about 2 inches away from doing a full split.

If you stretch out everyday and continue to do so then you will eventually be able to do a full split
